Wrong Trousers!

The Redstart children came to school wearing their weirdest, wackiest wrong trousers to raise money for the right to look wrong.  The Grand Appeal is a charity that has fundraised for Bristol Hospital since 1995 with the Wrong Trousers initiative starting in 1997. This charity is very close to our hearts as one of our children was looked after by Bristol hospital - Rhys Rodway was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2018 and sadly passed away in early 2020. His parents set up the Rhys Star Fund (https://rhys-rodway.muchloved.com/Fundraising) in memory of their son. Rhys was with us at Redstart from Reception until Year 3 and we have regular fundraising activities to support his fund.

On the day, all the children arrived wearing their school uniform on the top and a whole variety of trousers and skirts, including pyjamas, superheroes and tie-dye. Rhys' two sisters, Rhianna and Aliyah also enjoyed taking part. We raised £381 for the fund and hope it will help support Bristol Hospital continue their high quality work with their patients.

Kirsty Rodway, mum of Rhys said, "It really means a lot that the school is raising money in Rhys' memory and every penny will help other children going through cancer".
