Redstart plans to take an active role in the recruitment and selection of trainee teachers through the 'Schools Direct' route working with JCTN.   We will have a clear plan for teacher training, including access to outstanding lessons and teachers for observation and planning, mentoring and quality assurance.

The Redstart Model

Redstart will offer initial teacher training (ITT) to graduates and career changers joining the teaching profession through our School Direct programme.

As a trainee teacher you will have access to school and classroom experience that will equip you with the knowledge, skills and experience you will need to become an excellent class teacher.

This programme is for graduates and career changer graduates wishing to train to become teachers.  You will need to meet the following requirements before you can be accepted onto the programme:

What is involved?

You will have a one-year placement at one of our Trust schools and will benefit from a contrasting experience undertaking a short-term placement at a second school.
